Brewer Warranty or Repair
Please carefully read the test procedures to indicate a non-working brewer. If you have determined your brewer is not working and it is within a year of the purchase date (check for your purchase date), your brewer is covered under warranty.
We warranty* this device for one year from the date of purchase in the following manner:
The exceptions/conditions to this warranty are:
- If the fuse is blown. (You are responsible to check and replace the fuse.)
- If the device was connected to a higher voltage source than it was designed for (110-120 volts AC, with Domestic North America model; 220-250 volts AC, International model).
- If the device was exposed to water or other liquids, or if the device has been opened. (We’ll know!)
- If the device has been abused/mistreated – bashed, smashed, broken, cracked, etc. Lightly scratched is ok.
If the test procedures at that link indicate a non-working unit, click here to fill out the appropriate warranty form.
*This warranty does not apply to the life of the silver wire. The life of the silver wire is determined by hours of use, quality of water, etc. I cannot guarantee how long they will last.
If it doesn’t seem to be brewing at all, you must determine if it actually has stopped working. The first thing to do is to replace the fuse (extra fuses were included with the brewer). These fuses are 500 ma (1/2 amp), 250v, 5×20 mm in size. If you lost/misplaced your fuses, that exact fuse is the only one that can be used. The small black cap on the end of the unit is the fuse cap. It unscrews and pulls the fuse out to be replaced [add link to brewer manual]. If you have misplaced the fuses, you can order more from our order page. You cannot use fuses that are different from this: 500 ma (1/2 amp), 250v, 5×22 mm size.
If the light does not come on, it may be still operating (the light may simply have stopped working), so try the extra fuses that were included with the brewer. If that does not work, try brewing plain tap water. If the water starts to get cloudy within 10 minutes after you turn it on, it’s working fine. Throw that cloudy water away and continue brewing CS. If no cloudiness appears, it’s not working. If trying all of the extra fuses plus brewing plain tap water doesn’t produce any cloudiness, you have a non-working brewer that qualifies for free replacement (assuming the brewer is still under warranty).
If the light no longer works but it is still brewing CS (this happens every once in a great while), simply notice which direction the switch is pushed to be on (maybe mark “on” next to that side of the switch with a felt pen or put a piece of tape on that side). If you would still like to return it for repair, close this popup and scroll down to the “Warranty Form” and fill it out.
