The head thing

I am, of course, referring to headaches.
The list of items that can cause a headache are too long to list because almost anything can cause a headache.
To quote Dr. Mercola:
“Migraine is one of the most common health conditions in the world – more prevalent than diabetes, epilepsy and asthma combined. An estimated 13 percent of the world’s population suffer with migraines.”
I cannot present a comprehensive study of headaches here, but I can look at common triggers.
The first thing would be allergies (or, as I call them, “sensitivities”). Here are some of the most common that are known to trigger headaches:
Wheat and gluten, yeast (both alive bread-rising yeast and brewers/nutritional yeast), corn, citrus, Aspartame or other artificial sweeteners (saccharine, sucralose, Splenda, acesulfame K, neotame, etc.), MSG, cane sugar, grain cereals, eggs. The question with eggs is, are the people who have an allergic reaction (such as headaches) when they eat eggs having such a reaction because of the eggs, or the drugs, pesticides and chemicals common in commercial eggs? The commercial chickens that lay eggs (and even some organic) are fed corn and soy, which some people react to. As far as I know, no researcher ever pays any attention to this, they just say, “Eggs”, as though there wasn’t any difference.
This same issue can apply to meat (beef, chicken, fish) that comes from animals fed chemicals, toxins, drugs and “food” that is incompatible with that animal.
Use the search option here in our website to search for “food sensitivites” and “The allergy thing”. In that article, on page 6, near the bottom of the page, is a section titled, “Food Sensitivities” that describes a protocol called “The Pulse Test”, which can be used to identify substances your body doesn’t like (this includes allergies, but also anything your body doesn’t like for its own reasons).
I am not only talking about food; you can get a headache from a smell or an article of clothing (I am allergic to wool), a cream or lotion (perfumes, aftershaves, deodorants, etc.), a soap (most commercial laundry soap is toxic) or other laundry chemical (static control, scent boosters, stain removers, clothes softeners), hair spray and the whole field of commercial cosmetics.
The Pulse Test will enable you to test the effect of each food, drink, substance or article of clothing to see if it is affecting your body (and causing your headaches).
We want it to be a simple, causative dynamic (“If I eat this, I get a headache; so I won’t eat that.”), something we can do or not do that immediately banishes the headaches. Sometimes it’s like that, but many times (maybe most times) it’s a bit more complicated, it’s a condition, a dynamic that must be changed within us.
The second thing I would look at would be digestion/regularity. If your body cannot dispose of toxins, the toxins can certainly affect you. I have personally and repeatedly seen clients who got their plumbing going efficiently resolve or reduce their migraines. I said ‘digestion/regularity’ because poor digestion can allow certain biochemical conditions to form/accumulate in the body (besides constipation) that standardly produce headaches. Adequate water is so important to good digestion that many people have seen headaches disappear by simply increasing their water intake. Use the search option here in our group (a small magnifying glass symbol) to search for “‘Digestion and regularity”.
The third thing would be blood sugar. Fluctuating blood sugar is a major cause or contributor to headaches. Stabilizing one’s blood sugar can be essential to resolving/relieving headaches. Use the search option here in our group (a small magnifying glass symbol) to search for “The science of stable blood sugar”.
All of these articles I am referring you to can also be found by searching our library right here in our website: https://thenaturalhealthlibrary.com
General poor health can be a major contributor (being demineralized, a common condition nowadays, can in some people express itself as regular and/or frequent headaches. In this case, the solution is more long-term, the restoration of health, not an overnight process).
Obviously, stress can play a major role, as can emotions. Fighting, arguing, struggling with a boss or a mate or a friend or a child can certainly affect one’s head! Fear, anger, worry, hate are all well-known to cause or contribute to a headache.
To discuss the reason why the headaches are happening is fine when you don’t have a headache, but during a headache, all that matters is relief. I am familiar with a level of pain that makes me say, “Oooh, you got heroin? Give it to me!” For me it wasn’t a headache, it was a ruptured disk in my back, but pain is pain.
Are there natural pain relievers?
Yes, as long as you don’t expect them to work like a drug.
MSM has a reputation for being a pain reliever by reducing inflammation. In severe pain, it likely wouldn’t be that effective.
EFT has repeatedly been effective with nearly any kind of pain, as well as addressing emotional issues that are behind the pain.
Some of the same methods for addressing emotional issues (EFT, relaxation techniques, prayer, music, meditation) can also have a positive physical affect.
There are various manipulative techniques (accupressure, Reiki, regular and deep-tissue massage, chiropractic, etc.) that have been known to work. Some you can apply yourself, some require a person trained to do it.
I am not against using a strong pain reliever drug to enable you to function while you are seeking to identify and resolve the cause behind your headaches. I resist the ongoing use of toxic drugs as a habitual method of simply coping with the pain. This is pain relief at the expense of your health, or what is called, “Robbing Peter to pay Paul.”
