Akaline Water

by Terry Chamberlin
Alkaline water filters try to both remove various unwanted substances but also add alkaline substances back into the water after filtering it. Many items can be alkaline that I would not consider healthy to ingest.
Alkaline calciums are the primary alkaline we need because calcium is what we are mostly made out of. Yes, the other minerals are mostly alkaline, but our bodies don’t use enough of them to change our pH, compared to the amount of calciums we use. It’s almost like, calciums are the primary mineral with all the other minerals as complimentary minerals. The complimentary minerals don’t determine pH, the primary one does. A person who was deficient in alkaline calcium couldn’t take enough other individual minerals to repair that imbalance.
A good 5-stage RO system removes even metallic minerals from the water, which is as close as you can get to distilled water without it actually being distilled.
When looking for steam distilled water, look in grocery stores or pharmacies. Or look in the yellow pages under “Water” to see if there are any water stores listed. The businesses that advertise “Sparkling Spring Water” or some such usually also sell steam distilled water but don’t advertise it. These businesses usually deliver water in 5-gallon blue bottles. A 5-stage Reverse Osmosis unit usually removes all minerals as well, but you must be sure that it isn’t one of the units that then adds some minerals back in. You can also search ebay/Amazon for “Table top water distiller” to be able to distill your own water.
Unless you actually got water from a spring that was running down a mountain side, “spring water” is a meaningless term with no legal definition. A store can fill bottles from a tap and call it “spring water” because the water did “spring” from the tap. CS made with “spring water” will be cloudy/murky, and not nearly as effective as that made with steam distilled water. You also have no idea what other substances may be in that “spring water” (including chlorine and various pathogens).
